Thiago Silva became Brazil’s most capped defender with his appearance against Ghana last night.
The Chelsea defender captained the Selecao to a 3-0 friendly victory over the African side in France last night, with Richarlison netting twice after Thiago’s defensive partner Marquinhos had earlier opened the scoring at Stade Oceana.
Thiago, nicknamed ‘the monster’, featured for the first 45 minutes in Le Harve before being replaced by Juventus defender Bremer for the second half.
The latest cap accumulated by Thiago, his 108th for Brazil, sees him overtake Lucio as the Selecao’s most-capped defender.
Brazil's next fixture is against Tunisia on Tuesday in Paris.
