Aggie Beever-Jones, Maika Hamano and Wieke Kaptein are all in the running to receive the 2024/25 PFA Women’s Young Player of the Year award.
This year’s awards ceremony for the Professional Footballers’ Association will be held at Manchester Opera House on Tuesday 19 August, when all the winners will be revealed and honoured.
For the Women’s Young Player of the Year category, it has now been confirmed that Chelsea will provide half of the six nominees, with Beever-Jones, Hamano and Kaptein all being selected by their fellow professionals.
Kaptein enjoyed a fine first season after completing her move to Chelsea from Twente, while Hamano continued her emergence as a bright talent for the Blues, and Beever-Jones' influence grew even further as the striker finished as our top scorer with 13 goals in all competitions.
All three played their part in our incredible undefeated domestic season, helping us claim the Women’s Super League title, as well as victories in both the Women’s League Cup and Women’s FA Cup finals.
The Chelsea trio face competition for the award from fellow nominees Grace Clinton (Manchester United), Mary Fowler (Manchester City) and Olivia Smith (Liverpool).
