New Jersey, tick! New York City, tick! Now for Washington DC!

Chelsea arrived in Washington DC on Thursday afternoon to begin preparing for our next pre-season friendly against Arsenal.

The Blues departed Manhattan in the morning for DC, with three of the squad detouring via Delaware University where tour partner Barclays hosted an event.

Goalkeeper Zecira Musovic and defenders Niamh Charles and Ashley Lawrence took part in a panel - which covered life as a professional athlete and Chelsea's tour of the USA so far - and then a discussion saw the student footballers chat and ask questions to the Blues trio.

There was also the opportunity for the students to take photos with our players - and even the Women's Super League trophy, which also paid a visit to the university!

After arriving at the hotel, the players had some food to fuel up for the first training session in the American capital ahead of our London derby against Arsenal at Audi Field on Sunday.

Following the warm-ups and stretches, the session saw the squad split into five groups for a circuit of drills with each station having its own focus. Points were tallied to crown an eventual winner, so things got competitive!

To round-off outfield training there was a possession game, meanwhile our goalkeepers - Musovic, Hannah Hampton, and Katie Cox - worked as a three-strong unit throughout the evening in their own session.
