The Blues are in the USA for our pre-season tour and we can take you closer to the action from camp with the latest instalment of our daily tour diaries…
The 5th Stand app and the official Chelsea website have been granted exclusive access as Thomas Tuchel and his players step up preparations for the new campaign.
Here’s a look at what happened on day six of the tour…
Pitchside view
Our final full day in Los Angeles began with the usual short trip to the UCLA campus, where the Chelsea squad were greeted by some of our board members including Todd Boehly, Behdad Eghbali and Jose Feliciano.
Boehly briefly addressed the group of players and coaching staff prior to the session getting underway and then it was down to business in the scorching Californian sunshine. With plenty of sweat and hard graft, it was over to Thiago Silva to lead the cooling-off process.
While most of the action was focused on small-sided ball work, there was also plenty of running as the fitness levels ramp up just days before our first friendly of pre-season against Club America.
Cole at the Lakers
Elsewhere in the city on Thursday morning, Joe Cole visited the LA Lakers training complex and was given a tour of the facilities by former NBA player Robert Horr, with the pair also exchanging jerseys.
Signing off at UCLA
It was back to UCLA for one last time in the afternoon as our second session of the day brought to an end our work in the city.
After Tuchel and his coaching team put the players through another gruelling workout, the group posed for a photo with the staff from the campus who have been so accommodating over the past week.
Next up: it's Las Vegas!
