Day two stateside was an action-packed one for the Chelsea players, with a double training session completed in between a visit to a local hospital.
The morning started with some light training for many returning Blues, with Enzo Fernandez, Levi Colwill, Noni Madueke and Mykhailo Mudryk undergoing their first sessions under Mauricio Pochettino’s stewardship.
Afterwards, head coach Pochettino enjoyed his first pre-match press conference ahead of our clash with Wrexham.
The Argentine spoke of Chapel Hill, North Carolina where we have been based since arrival.
‘It's really hot, humid. The humidity is terrible! It's amazing, though, amazing fans and every part of America has different good things. I hope to see things to keep in my memories. It's nice to be here.’
Marc Cucurella added to his head coach’s thoughts, when he also spoke to journalists on Tuesday afternoon.
'To come here, stay here with the fans, and do our best for the fans is really good. For us, we get to visit a new country and new cities. It's a really good time. The heat and humidity is very difficult for us. I am a British boy now and suffer a lot!'
We then gave Chelsea fans a glimpse of what life is like on the training field back in Surrey when we hosted an open training session at WakeMed Soccer Park in North Carolina.
Passing drills, intense work on speed and agility, and matchday minus one tactical work were the order of the play.
