With a free midweek, Chelsea continued the work started during the international break to build on the weekend's big win over Bournemouth.

Xabi Alonso made good use of the extended international break at Cobham, taking the time on the training pitch to further get his ideas across to the players in the ongoing process of shaping the Blues in his image.

That paid dividends on Saturday when we brushed Bournemouth aside at Stamford Bridge in a 5-1 victory. With no midweek fixture to worry about, Alonso and his squad are once again focused on continuing that work to keep improving ahead of the upcoming Premier League trip to Everton.

‘The international break was a long time. We had time to work, to fix the mistakes against Brentford, and we got a great result,' said Joao Pedro.

‘Of course, you want to win with a clean sheet, so we need to keep working. Hopefully the next game we can get that, but it was a great game and three more points.’

Joao Pedro and his team-mates were working on that next step on the Cobham training pitch on Wednesday and you can see our pick of the photos from the latest session below...
