While the majority of the country enjoyed a day off due to the bank holiday, it was all systems go at Cobham as our preparations for tomorrow’s FA Cup quarter-final clash with Port Vale completed.
The Blues welcome the League One side to Stamford Bridge for a Saturday teatime cup tie, knowing that victory will see us reach the last-four of the competition we last won in 2018.
Liam Rosenior and his staff put the players through their paces on Friday afternoon, with the session taking place after the head coach spoke to the gathered media at Cobham beforehand.
It was in that pre-match media briefing that Rosenior confirmed that Enzo Fernandez will miss our next two games as part of a sanction for comments the midfielder made while on international duty.
Also missing tomorrow’s tie will be the Cobham-schooled trio of Reece James, Trevoh Chalobah and Levi Colwill. Rosenior did confirm, however, that the three are making good progress in their respective recoveries from injury.
Estevao Willian and Jamie Gittens are both fit to face the Valiants though, and the duo were both involved in Friday’s training session.
Marc Guiu, Wesley Fofana, Marc Cucurella and Cole Palmer were also pictured, as were Romeo Lavia, Tosin Adarabioyo, Malo Gusto and Joao Pedro.
