Liam Rosenior stated after Sunday’s win over Crystal Palace that there wouldn’t be the opportunity for a day off for his players, and that proved to be the case as the Blues got to work on Monday afternoon at Cobham.
Of course, our head coach would love to reward the players with a day off after our stunning 3-1 win away at Selhurst Park but due to the congested fixture list we find ourselves juggling, it was straight back to work at Cobham on Monday as he looks to recover and refocus the squad to a huge Champions League clash with Napoli in Italy on Wednesday.
We head to the city of Naples on Tuesday afternoon for a crunch final League Phase fixture of Europe’s premium club competition.
Victory would ensure we progress to the knockout stage without needing to go through a two-legged play-off, with Rosenior and his staff keen to rest and recover the boys ahead of the upcoming game.
Our goalscorers from the weekend were all pictured at Cobham, with Estevao Willian, Joao Pedro and Enzo Fernandez joined by skipper Reece James and Trevoh Chalobah on the bikes to get the blood pumping in the legs, before we took to the pitches.
From there, the likes of Malo Gusto, Liam Delap, Marc Cucurella, Pedro Neto and Jorell Hato were all spotted, while Cole Palmer – who missed the clash against the Eagles – was also involved.
Rosenior and a member of his squad will face the media in Naples tomorrow evening, where the latest team updates ahead of this Champions League game will be provided.
