The Chelsea squad got back to work at Cobham today following our fine weekend win over Manchester United, and a familiar face was involved as the Blues' focus turns to Sunderland.

Xabi Alonso's side returned to winning ways in the top flight on Saturday as we claimed an important victory over Man United.

A fine solo strike from Morgan Rogers gave us the lead shortly before the interval in the clash at Stamford Bridge, and Cole Palmer dispatched a penalty after Lisandro Martinez had been dismissed for a foul on Wesley Fofana.

With matchweek nine of the Premier League now complete, we lie in fourth position in the table. A victory at bottom-placed Sunderland at the Stadium of Light on Sunday would provide the perfect ending to this block of fixtures ahead of the final international break of 2026.

The work towards our visit to the North-East started in earnest today. Romeo Lavia, Palmer and Rogers were among those out on the grass at our Surrey training base, while there was the welcome sight of goalkeeper Emi Martinez in the gym.

The Argentine stopper hasn't featured for the Blues since our victory over Everton, during which he sustained a jaw injury that required surgery.
