The next player to share his early footballing memories in our regular feature is Trevoh Chalobah, recalling his time coming through the Chelsea Academy since a young age.

Most of Chalobah's life has been spent as a Chelsea player, working his way up the age groups in our Academy before a series of successful loans, eventually establishing himself in the senior squad since his memorable Blues debut four years ago.

Now the defender casts his mind back to the beginning to answer our quickfire questions...

Your first pair of boots were...

Nike T90s.

The first kit you owned was...

Ah, I don’t remember. The first one I can remember was a Brazil shirt. It was an R9 one, Ronaldo.

Your first team was...

Cannons FC, a Sunday league team.

The first coach you remember was...

At man at Chelsea called Frank O’Brien. He is one I will always remember because he was really strict with me, but he was good for me. It’s what I needed.

Your first friend in football was...

Mason Mount. I’m still in touch with him obviously, it’s not that long since he left.

The first team-mate you roomed with was...

Let me think of my Academy room-mates... I’d say the first was Ike Ugbo. He's a striker, he plays with my brother for Sheffield Wednesday now. He went abroad for a bit and then he came back.

Your first game and goal was...

They were on loan at Ipswich, but we’ll just stick with the Chelsea ones, because my first game was winning the UEFA Super Cup in 2021 and my first goal was on my Stamford Bridge debut three days later. I’ll never forget scoring that goal against Crystal Palace, it was amazing.

The first time you were recognised in public was...

It was literally after that Palace game, when I made my Premier League debut. After that game I went into a restaurant called Gola in Fulham and there were so many people in there who spotted me straight away. As soon as one person noticed me, that was it.

Your first emotion after signing for Chelsea was...

I was only eight but I can remember it, I was just happy. My older brother Nathaniel was here as well when I came here, so I was happy to be here and follow him. That’s what made me become a Chelsea supporter. When Nathaniel came to Chelsea, that’s when I started supporting Chelsea.
