Trevoh Chalobah says the Blues will continue with the same process that has served us so well throughout the Club World Cup as we prepare for Sunday’s final in New Jersey.

The defender more than played his part in us registering a third clean sheet of the tournament in the victory over Fluminense, recording a Chelsea-high seven recoveries and not misplacing one of his passes.

Chalobah completed all 54 of his pass attempts today, the second most by any player with 100 per cent accuracy during a game in this year's Club World Cup, with Jonathan Tah's 67 for Bayern against Boca Juniors the only one higher.

The England international was quick to recognise the collective effort that has gone into our success so far, though, as he detailed his emotions at reaching a second final in a matter of weeks.

'We’re over the moon,’ said Chalobah. ‘It’s been one of our goals since the first game of the tournament and it’s nice to get into the final.

‘All we can manage is what happens on the pitch and the boys have done that well throughout this tournament. Now we have one more step.'

It was Joao Pedro, one of our new signings, who lit up the MetLife Stadium with two goals of the highest calibre against his former club. His display followed hot on the heels of a promising start to life in blue for another attacker, Liam Delap. Chalobah commented on the duo’s acclimatisation.

'They have both fitted in well. They have both come into the team and played like they’ve been here for years.

‘It’s good to have that type of quality and add it to a strong group. We’re really happy for them.'

Now the Blues stand just one game away from being crowned champions of the world, with 32 teams whittled down to just two.

Despite the magnitude of the occasion and the quality of the opponent that awaits us, Chalobah says there will be no major shift in the build-up to Sunday’s showpiece.

‘We will prepare the same way we have been preparing for every game,’ he stated.

‘Nothing changes, no matter the opponent we play, we will prepare the same. It will be exciting to play one of the best teams in the world, and we will be ready.’
