Chelsea Under-18s returned to winning ways as braces from Donnell McNeilly and Tyrique George, as well as goals from Shumaira Mheuka and Michael Golding, saw us hit six past Norwich.

After last week’s defeat against Fulham, our young Blues showed their goalscoring capabilities in this goalfest.

The Canaries did score three goals, but Chelsea were dominant and were fully deserving of the victory.

We got off to a great start as McNeill was in the right place to sweep home after good work from George who grabbed the assist.

McNeilly turned provider soon after as his pinpoint cross found the head of Mheuka who powered it home.

George, who was having a great game, added to the lead with a fine solo goal which saw him beat defenders on the way to goal.

The dominance from our young Blues was clear and they were putting on a show as they headed into the half-time break three goals up.

Soon after the break Josh Acheampong fouled Alfie Pinyoun in the box and the resulting penalty was converted by Elliot Myles.

The goal did nothing to derail us as we scored a fourth. The persistence of George saw him convert after his initial shot was dropped by the Norwich goalkeeper.

Three minutes later we scored a fifth goal, and it came through Golding who did well to compose himself and finish with a sublime effort that gave the keeper no chance.

Almost immediately after the fifth, we bagged our sixth and it was McNeilly again showing his striker instincts to be in the right place at the right time.

Norwich scored quickfire goals of their own through Myles and Damari Daley to reduce the arrears to 6-3.

The game would end with us in the ascendancy as there were opportunities to add to our healthy lead, but we would settle for an impressive 6-3 scoreline.
