Amir Zasella enjoyed a once-in-a-lifetime experience courtesy of a matchday wish organised by Chelsea Foundation.

The 11-year-old, who has been going through a difficult time, was given a full matchday experience at Stamford Bridge as Chelsea were victorious against Sheffield United.

Amir and his family were given tickets for the game, exclusive access to player arrivals and the press room, plus an opportunity to watch the squad warm up from pitchside.

While watching the team prepare for the match, Amir was surprised by Ben Chilwell on the sidelines before players such as Armando Broja, Enzo Fernandez, Marcus Bettinelli and Lucas Bergstrom greeted Amir following the warm-up.

Amir said: ‘I enjoyed every moment, from the excitement of the player arrivals to the incredible feeling of walking out into the stadium and pitch side. The win added the perfect finishing touches to make it an all-round special day.’

Amir’s dad, Ahmet, said: ‘The entire experience was nothing short of unforgettable for Amir. He is still ecstatic about it and can’t stop talking about the day.

‘For our family, the day has had a profound impact. It gave Amir something extraordinary to look forward to and to see his joy on the day and dreams come true brought a sense of happiness and hope that words truly can’t express.’

Chelsea Foundation has organised a number of matchday wishes in 2023, including one for Shea Howes who enjoyed the exclusive experience at Stamford Bridge when Chelsea played Brentford in October.

Shea was joined by his younger cousin and family, with the group being treated to an unforgettable day with tickets for the match, access to player arrivals, plus meeting Deivid Washington and Chelsea legend Joe Cole.

Shea said: ‘After going through such a tough time, it’s been amazing to be at Stamford Bridge along with my cousin and be treated to this excellent experience.’
