In an exclusive, behind-the-scenes documentary, Unrivalled, the story of Chelsea Women's invincible and historic domestic Treble-winning campaign is told by those who made it happen. And you can watch it now on the Chelsea Official App and Chelsea Official Website.
Sonia Bompastor faced the unenviable task of succeeding the iconic Emma Hayes as Chelsea head coach in the summer of 2024. Standards had been set over the previous decade; winning silverware was an expectation, although far from a formality.
In Unrivalled – which can be viewed for free below on the Chelsea Official App and Chelsea Official Website – Bompastor reflects upon her first impressions after arriving at the club.
'I felt I was in the right place,' she explains. 'It was a balance between bringing my mentality, having my vision, but also respecting what was done before. People knew I was stepping into big shoes after Emma's era, and from the beginning, I wanted to bring my mentality and make sure everyone understood who I was.'
Bompastor's impact was immediate, as Chelsea went on an unprecedented winning run in the Women's Super League to cement ourselves at the top of the table. We also moved through our Champions League group without dropping a single point. It was the perfect start.
Challenges arrived during the second half of the campaign, but the Blues often rose to the occasion. Impressive victories were secured and memorable moments were enjoyed at Kingsmeadow, Stamford Bridge, and on the road.
Members of the Blues squad, including captain Millie Bright, Players' Player of the Season Nathalie Bjorn, Blues legends Erin Cuthbert and Guro Reiten, American star Cat Macario and many more, talk us through the campaign in Unrivalled.
They reflect on the highs – of which there were many – and the lows of a memorable season that saw Chelsea become the first club to go through a 22-game WSL season unbeaten and add three more trophies to a bulging cabinet.
And once supporters have enjoyed the 40-minute documentary, they can ensure their place at the start of a new story as we begin our Women's Super League campaign on Friday evening against fellow title rivals Manchester City.
The game will take place at Stamford Bridge on 5 September and will kick off at 7.30pm. Fans can purchase their tickets now!
