September saw Chelsea Women score 11 goals in seven matches and now you can vote for your favourite to decide the winner of our Chelsea Women's Constant Contact Goal of the Month award.

During a spectacular month, we went unbeaten as the new domestic campaign and the league phase of the UEFA Women's Champions League got under way.

Four Women's Super League wins and one draw since the start of the season have seen us collect 13 points, sitting second in the table, while a win and a draw in the Champions League have made it a fine start to our European campaign.

The month began with qualification for the Champions League proper, with a 1-0 away win against Real Sociedad, followed quickly by a 1-1 draw with Aston Villa to kick off the new WSL campaign. That was backed up with four wins on the trot over Manchester United, Birmingham City, Austria Vienna and, in the stand-out result, a 1-0 victory over rivals Arsenal. September ended with a hard-fought goalless draw in the Champions League away at Lyonnes.

Lauren James vs Aston Villa | Women's Super League

James scored the opening goal of our league campaign with a fine strike. Receiving the ball 25 yards from goal, she showed some nifty footwork, rolling the ball twice under her studs before a step-over created space against the defender, allowing her to rifle a rasping left-footed effort into the roof of the net beyond the despairing goalkeeper.

Sjoeke Nusken vs Manchester United | Women's Super League

German midfielder Nusken opened her WSL account for the season with the first goal of the match against Manchester United after some excellent build-up play from Wieke Kaptein. Kaptein took advantage of a defensive lapse from Man Utd as the ball bounced over Dominique Janssen's head. She showed exquisite control to bring it down, then great vision to lay it off to Nusken, who did the rest with a calm side-footed finish into the far corner.

Keira Walsh vs Manchester United | Women's Super League

On her 50th appearance for the Blues, Walsh grabbed a goal and an assist to cap a fine day. The midfielder let fly with a powerful drive into the bottom corner to make it 2-0 and hand us a firm grip on the match. After Man United failed to clear a dangerous cross, Lucy Bronze laid the ball off to Walsh, who took one touch to set herself before letting rip from the edge of the area with an unstoppable effort into the bottom corner.

Lauren James vs Manchester United | Women's Super League

James' second entry of the month comes courtesy of her second-half strike against Man United. A fine touch and cutting through-ball from Walsh took three Man United players out of the game, and James did the rest with an excellent left-footed effort across the goalkeeper and into the far corner of the net.

Ellie Carpenter vs Manchester United | Women's Super League

The Australian grabbed her first goal of the season, being the first to react to a loose ball after the Man United goalkeeper saved her initial effort, following good work from Kaptein to set up the chance. The Dutch midfielder's strong tackle and run through the middle of the park opened things up for Carpenter on the right to hit a first-time effort, only to see it saved before the Aussie fired in the rebound beyond the desperate Man United defence.

Lexi Potter vs Birmingham City | Women's Super League

It was a moment of magic from Potter to give us the lead early on against Birmingham when the midfielder took a fabulous first touch in the box before smashing the ball into the roof of the net from 10 yards out. With two defenders throwing themselves in front of her, Potter knew she had to risk going high, and did so in style, smashing an unsaveable effort into the top of the net after fine work by Carpenter down the right to set up the chance.

Melvine Malard vs Birmingham City | Women's Super League

French star Malard came off the bench to put the game to bed against Birmingham with a lovely finish. Latching onto a poor header back from the Birmingham defence, Malard's first touch dinked the ball over the onrushing goalkeeper and her second was on the volley to finish into the empty net.

Wieke Kaptein vs Austria Vienna | UEFA Women's Champions League

Kaptein's stupendous strike was the difference in our opening Champions League match, with the Dutch star rifling in a long-range effort to settle the match 1-0. Kaptein picked up a loose ball 30 yards from goal, took two touches to beat the lunging defender and set herself up to thunder a shot off the underside of the crossbar.

Alyssa Thompson vs Arsenal | Women's Super League

The American winger sealed all three points in the London derby against Arsenal with a poacher's finish to grab the only goal of the game. After some battling work from Kaptein, Carpenter and Malard to win the ball back, Walsh's powerful strike could only be parried by goalkeeper Anneke Borbe, and Thompson was first to react and fire in from a tight angle.
