Ahead of this weekend’s trip to the red side of Merseyside to play Liverpool, we have picked out six memorable moments from previous Premier League outings at Anfield and want you to choose your favourite.

It wasn’t until 2003 that we won a Premier League match at Anfield but since that dramatic victory – which features on our shortlist – there have been plenty of highlights to enjoy.

Our six selections all come from league games so there is no space for John Arne Riise’s own goal, Branislav Ivanovic’s legendary brace or Eden Hazard’s stunning solo strike in cup competitions!

Nonetheless, these memories will no doubt bring a smile to your face, and choosing your favourite won’t be easy. Watch our video compilation to help you decide and then vote in our poll on the Chelsea Official App, with further context on each moment provided lower down the page.

JFH snatches victory | August 2003

The beginning of a new dawn at Chelsea began with a trip to the Premier League ground where we had enjoyed the least success, but Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink’s fine late winner helped right the wrongs of the previous decade.

Starting the new year in style | January 2005

Joe Cole strengthened the Blues’ grip on top spot in the Premier League in the early kick-off at Anfield on New Year’s Day in 2005, with his deflected strike ten minutes from time earning a famous victory.

Record victory | October 2005

Chelsea’s joint-biggest win at Anfield was the 4-1 humbling we dished out early in the 2005/06 season, by which time a serious rivalry had been born which made the victory all the sweeter. Damien Duff scored the pick of our four goals.

Edging close to glory | May 2010

The penultimate game of our title-winning campaign in 2009/10 was a trip to Anfield, when only three points would do to keep Manchester United at bay. A tense opening was ended when Steven Gerrard’s short backpass was seized on by Didier Drogba to put us ahead, with Frank Lampard’s second-half goal securing a precious victory.

Ba pounces on slip | April 2014

Liverpool were on course to win the Premier League for the first time when we travelled to Anfield near the end of the 2013/14 campaign, but a resolute Blues outfit had other ideas, with Demba Ba capitalising on Gerrard’s slip and ex-Red Fernando Torres helping Willian make sure late on.

Hazard’s solo magic | May 2016

Eden Hazard and the Blues had been underwhelming in 2015/16 but the Belgian conjured up a moment of genius in another late-season fixture at Anfield, dancing between several in red before picking out the bottom corner from distance.
