We have whittled down Chelsea’s best free-kicks in the Premier League era to a shortlist of 16, and now we are asking you to choose your favourite in a knockout-style poll!

Unsurprisingly, some of our most technically accomplished players ever feature, including the likes of Gianfranco Zola, Frank Lampard, Didier Drogba and Cole Palmer. Selecting just 16 was no easy task and created plenty of debate, but we had to draw the line somewhere!

We will narrow the vote down from 16, to eight, to four, to two and then our winner, which we will announce later this week.

Each day until then there will be a fresh vote exclusively on the Chelsea Official App - and we start with the Round of 16.

Like in a major tournament, there are eight ties, and we want you to choose which goal you think is the best from each pairing. Those with the most votes will advance to tomorrow's quarter-finals, which will again be decided by a poll on the Chelsea Official App.

We have created separate videos for each pairing so you can compare the two goals before casting your vote. And don't forget to check back in each day this week as we get close to our winner!

Simply head to the Chelsea Official App to cast your eight votes, with detail on the 16 goals below.

1. Didier Drogba vs David Luiz

Didier Drogba vs Portsmouth - 2010 FA Cup final

Scoring the winner in an FA Cup final is pretty special and to do it with an eye-catching free-kick even more so, Drogba’s curling effort kissing the inside of the post on its way in at Wembley.

David Luiz vs Basel - 2013 Europa League semi-final

David Luiz's cheeky effort caught the Basel goalkeeper out and won us the first leg of our Europa League semi-final in 2013 with the last kick of the game.

2. Willian vs Alex

Willian vs Southampton - 2015/16 Premier League

Willian had a habit of scoring free-kicks in 2015/16 and this one was the pick of the bunch, curled from left to right into the top corner.

Alex vs Liverpool - 2009 Champions League quarter-final

Alex tested the strength of the net at the Matthew Harding End of Stamford Bridge when he powered in a stunning free-kick against Liverpool in the Champions League quarter-finals.

3. Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink vs Gianfranco Zola

Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink vs Tottenham - 2002 League Cup semi-final

JFH was renowned for his ferocious shot and he showcased it with a thunderous free-kick against Tottenham in the first leg of a League Cup semi-final tie.

Gianfranco Zola vs Everton - 1996/97 Premier League

Zola’s first Chelsea goal was a special one, swerving and dipping into the net and befuddling Everton’s backline in the process.

4. Reece James vs Enzo Fernandez

Reece James vs Bournemouth - 2024/25 Premier League

The skipper scored a last-minute equaliser with a pinpoint and powerful free-kick that clipped the inside of the post on its way in.

Enzo Fernandez vs Aston Villa - 2023/24 FA Cup

This postage-stamp effort from Enzo was even sweeter because it beat his international team-mate Emiliano Martinez.

5. Gianfranco Zola vs Oscar

Gianfranco Zola vs Tottenham - 2002/03 Premier League

Zola’s last free-kick goal for us was probably the one he scored from furthest out, whipped into the top corner to preserve our long unbeaten run against Tottenham.

Oscar vs Stoke City - 2013/14 FA Cup

Oscar's matchwinning goal against Stoke in the FA Cup fourth round in 2014 couldn't have been better placed, nestling in the net via the post.

6. Marcos Alonso vs Frank Lampard

Marcos Alonso vs Tottenham - 2017/18 Premier League

A regular scorer of set-pieces during his time at the Bridge, Alonso’s bending effort at Wembley against Tottenham was as aesthetically pleasing as a free-kick gets.

Frank Lampard vs Tottenham - 2012 FA Cup semi-final

Lampard’s swerving 30-yard effort was too hot for his former Chelsea team-mate Carlo Cudicini to handle, and made all the sweeter because it came against Tottenham in an FA Cup semi-final.

7. Cesc Fabregas vs Alex

Cesc Fabregas vs West Ham - 2015/16 Premier League

A textbook free-kick from the silky Spaniard that lifted over the wall before dropping below the crossbar in front of the Shed End.

Alex vs Arsenal - 2010/11 Premier League

A near carbon-copy of Alex’s Liverpool goal, although from a little further out, helped us get the better of Arsenal in this London derby.

8. Cole Palmer vs Deco

Cole Palmer vs Brighton - 2024/25 Premier League

Palmer brought up his hat-trick against Brighton last season with a spectacular long-range free-kick that seemed to pick up pace as it entered the net.

Deco vs Wigan - 2008/09 Premier League

Deco had an eye for the spectacular and this winner at Wigan proved the point, the pace and accuracy of the shot enough to beat the Latics keeper.
