Chelsea have won three out of four games during the second month of the year, and with several standout performers to choose from, it's time to vote for your Chelsea Women's Player of the Month for February 2026.
February began with a heavy defeat at the hands of Manchester City, but the Blues bounced back from that setback in style with 2-0 wins over Tottenham Hotspur and Liverpool in the Women's Super League.
On Sunday, we faced last year's Women's FA Cup finalists Manchester United in the fifth round of the competition as we continued our defence of the trophy. With the scores deadlocked at 1-1 after 90 minutes, we pulled off a 2-1 win in extra time to seal a quarter-final tie at home to Spurs.
We have selected five players in our Player of the Month shortlist, and you can vote for one of Naomi Girma, Alyssa Thompson, Veerle Buurman, Sjoeke Nusken or Lauren James.
Girma produced a standout display when we faced an onslaught of Spurs attacks during the first half at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, winning the ball back seven times, making two key blocks and completing 96 of her 100 passing attempts during the 90 minutes. The American also scored the winning goal in extra time against Man United in the FA Cup, seeing us safely through to the quarter-final.
Her compatriot Alyssa Thompson has also been in fine form during February, scoring in back-to-back WSL fixtures against Man City and Spurs, before putting in a tenacious display in the win over Liverpool and creating three chances for her team-mates against Man United.
Next on the list is 19-year-old defender Buurman, who has started in all four matches during February, and her eye-catching performances at the back have been steadily improving – so much so that she assisted Sam Kerr's opener against Man United as well as breaking up their attacks with five perfectly timed tackles throughout that contest.
Nusken has started in all three wins and came on early in the second half away at Man City. The midfielder scored the opener against Liverpool, whilst she was also instrumental in creating Thompson's goal at Spurs and won seven out of her 10 duels that day.
Finally, James provided two key moments in the win over Liverpool, setting up Nusken for our first and whipping up a moment of magic for the second with a magnificent solo strike. The Chelsea number 10 has enjoyed a consistent run in the team of late and has been contributing to the attack with some solid performances.
