Drogba ushers in a new dawn | August 2005
Ten years had passed without the Blues beating Arsenal in the Premier League, but Didier Drogba helped change that at the start of our second consecutive Premier League title-winning campaign.
It wasn't the Ivorian's best goal in blue, but following a quick Frank Lampard free-kick, he bundled home the ball in front of the Matthew Harding to ensure a 1-0 victory.
A goal from the gods | December 2006
Chelsea’s long unbeaten run in the league under Jose Mourinho, standing at almost two-and-a-half seasons, was in grave danger of ending with Arsenal ahead at Stamford Bridge, courtesy of a 78th-minute goal from Mathieu Flamini.
But with six minutes of the contest remaining, Frank Lampard rolled the ball back to Michael Essien 30 yards from goal and the Ghanaian midfielder unleashed an unstoppable swerving rocket to draw us level.
Comeback complete | March 2008
In a meeting of two Premier League title rivals, Didier Drogba ensured Chelsea leapfrogged Arsenal in the table with a nine-minute brace late in the second half that showcased the Ivorian’s ability to mix power with finesse.
Drogba's first was a finish fired beyond Manuel Almunia after the ball had broken to him in the box; his second was steered beyond the Arsenal goalkeeper after a flick-on from strike partner Nicolas Anelka.
Alex’s exocet | October 2010
Alex had a reputation for the spectacular from free-kicks and delivered again with a stunning long-range strike that whistled past Almunia and sealed a 2-0 victory for the Blues.
The Brazilian was forced off six minutes later with a thigh injury that Chelsea assistant coach Ray Wilkins joked had been sustained when the centre-back lashed his unstoppable shot toward goal.
Chelsea 6-0 Arsenal | March 2014
Less a moment and more an entire match that ended with a barely believable scoreline (pictured top) in Arsene Wenger’s 1000th game in charge of Arsenal.
The Blues raced into a four-goal lead by half-time and added two more after the break, registering our record victory over the Gunners in the process.
New signings combine | October 2014
Cesc Fabregas and Diego Costa had already lit up the Bridge in the early stages of their Chelsea career when they demonstrated their telepathic relationship against Arsenal.
Fabregas, playing against his former club, produced a perfect lofted pass for his striker, who finished coolly.
The magic of Eden | February 2017
Eden Hazard delivered one of his most iconic moments in blue – and there were many! – in our 3-1 win over Arsenal in 2016/17.
Collecting the ball from the Diego Costa knockdown just inside his own half, the brilliant Belgian made a fool of several Arsenal defenders before slipping his shot past Petr Cech.
Marcos wins it | August 2018
An entertaining and end-to-end London derby looked set to end in a draw until Marcos Alonso popped up in the six-yard box late on to convert Hazard’s centre and secure a 3-2 victory.
