Reece James’ outstanding performances for Chelsea in November have been recognised by the Premier League, who have shortlisted our skipper for their Player of the Month prize.

James starred in a central midfield role against Tottenham and Arsenal, notably in the latter London derby where he dominated the middle of the park despite us playing with ten men for much of the contest.

James also featured in the wins over Wolves and Burnley – on those occasions at right-back – as we recorded three clean sheets in four games.

Our captain showed his value going forward, too, and it was his corner that set up Trevoh Chalobah’s goal against Arsenal.

James is on an eight-man shortlist also featuring Harvey Barnes, former Blue Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, Jeremy Doku, Bruno Fernandes, Morgan Gibbs-White, Declan Rice, and Igor Thiago.

Voting for the award closes at 12pm on Monday 8 December – and you can help Reece win by voting for him here!
