Our Spanish manager previously made the shortlist in August, following his first few weeks in the Chelsea dugout, and now receives a nomination for October's award.

• Vote for Xabi Alonso to win Premier League Manager of the Month

It follows a strong month for the Blues, during which we won three of our four league games. That started when we returned from the extended international break with a 5-1 thrashing of Bournemouth, before we took that form on the road to secure our first Premier League clean sheet of the campaign in a 2-0 win at Everton.

Following a setback against Tottenham Hotspur, Chelsea got straight back to winning ways on the final day of the month, producing an excellent second-half performance to beat Manchester United 2-0 at Stamford Bridge.

Alonso is one of six names on the shortlist for the award, facing competition from Mikel Arteta (Arsenal), Roberto De Zerbi (Tottenham), Unai Emery (Aston Villa), Fabian Hurzeler (Brighton & Hove Albion) and Marco Rose (Bournemouth).

You can help the Chelsea manager collect the award by casting your vote for the October Premier League Manager of the Month here before the poll closes at midday on Monday 9 November. The winner will be revealed at midday on Friday 13 November.
