We took an early lead at the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu thanks to Mason Mount's composed finish following good work from Mateo Kovacic, and the tie was level on aggregate shortly after half-time, when Antonio Rudiger headed in a Mount corner brilliantly.

Marcos Alonso then had a goal disallowed before Timo Werner squeezed a finish past Thibaut Courtois to briefly put us ahead overall. However, it wasn't to be, as Real Madrid equalised and then found the decisive goal in extra time, despite being second best for much of the game.
