In a new episode of our We Are Chelsea podcast, our breakthrough star of the season Aggie Beever-Jones is in the hotseat to discuss club life and why the Blues can bounce back from recent setbacks.

After spending the last two years out on loan at Bristol City and Everton, Beever-Jones has become a key part of Emma Hayes' squad this season.

Taking a break from the the Blues' busy schedule, the Cobham graduate sat down with regular host Caz De Moraes to give her take on how the team are shaping up ahead of a busy end to the season, as well as her own journey to the first team.

Chelsea return to Barclays WSL and UEFA Women's Champions League action this week, facing Aston Villa on Wednesday night before Saturday's trip to Barcelona.

Both games come hot off the back of a tough defeat to Manchester United in the Adobe Women's FA Cup semi-final at the weekend, which ended hopes of a trip to Wembley.

But Beever-Jones is confident the team will be able to move on from that disappointment swiftly.

'If you talk to any one of us we are all absolutely gutted, because the FA Cup has been our trophy for the past four years. It was a tough pill to swallow. Anyone who came to the training ground, you can see it on our faces, sometimes that is just part of it.

'But the beauty of being at Chelsea is that we are going for it in four competitions and we’ve still got two to play for now.

'We’ve got the WSL back again and we’re going to make sure we hit the ground running and right our wrongs. It is just a shame because every single player wants to be at Wembley and in the final.

'It’s tough to swallow, but it will just fuel us even more for the next two competitions. We’re in a good position now and mentally we’ve put it to bed.'

Beever-Jones went on to say that training her mind to deal with such setbacks has been crucial to her first-team breakthrough.

The forward, who has six WSL goals to her name this season, added that Hayes' guidance has been a huge factor in building her mental resilience.

'I spoke to Emma the other day about it all, but again it comes back to that mental side of things. Anyone from the outside can look at Chelsea and know how much quality we have, in the starting XI, subs and throughout the squad. We have an immense amount of talent.

'It’s evident in our history, look at how much we’ve won. But the mental side, you have to train your mind to deal with failure and quickly turn it into positive thinking. If things don’t go your way, what are you going to take as your next action.

'That’s definitely a conversation I’ve had with Emma. It is hard when you have a quick run of games, but we are good at doing that [responding]. That’s what is good about Chelsea, we know how to bounce back from things when they don’t go our way.'

With two huge home games over the next 10 days, against Villa at Kingsmeadow and Barcelona at the Bridge, Beever-Jones spoke about how much of a difference our supporters can make to the players at this stage of the season.

'We have the best fans in the league by a clear mile. They are almost like the 12th player when we really need them.

'When things aren’t necessarily going our way and we need a lift you can always rely on the fans. They have little chants for everyone which is obviously nice to hear. They offer something for everyone which you need in football, when the momentum is with the other team it’s just what you need.

'They’ve made Kingsmeadow our little fortress. While at Stamford Bridge we’ve had more and more fans each game coming along. I think it is so important to grow the game and grow our fanbase.

‘In return we want to win as much as we can to make them proud to be a Chelsea fan.'
