Fan favourite and midfield enforcer Erin Cuthbert is in the hotseat this week for the latest episode of the 'We Are Chelsea' podcast - reflecting on her life in Blue so far.

Our Scottish international made her second appearance on the show, this time as a solo guest, as she sat down with regular host Caz De Moraes for a deep dive into her career.

Cuthbert talked through how the club has changed since first joining back in 2016, as well as adapting to playing in England, and the guidance she has received from manager Emma Hayes.

The midfielder also spoke candidly about her arrival to Chelsea, which came only months after appearing against the Blues for her former side Glasgow City in our maiden European tie.

'It makes me excited when I think back [to joining],' said Cuthbert. 'We played Chelsea in the Champions League six months before I actually ended up joining Chelsea.

'And I got substituted after 13 minutes, that is the biggest disrespect I've ever had in my career, hands down. It was 13 or maybe 17 [minutes] when I think Chelsea scored and then it was a tactical decision.

'But when a player gets subbed before 20 minutes, come on! I hadn't even touched the ball. The goal wasn't even directly caused by me.

'That one still really, really hurts. I thought that is my chance gone, no chance of getting a move to England. But then a couple of months later I got wind they were interested in having me down for a trial, which I understand because they hadn't seen me play.

Cuthbert also gave some insight on how she has dealt with wearing the captain's armband over recent months, alongside Niamh Charles, in Millie Bright's absence.

'Nothing changed, honestly, I genuinely do act the same and behave the same way.

'Yes I do have a greater consideration for others and making sure they are prepared, but you have to take care of yourself first.

'I've grown into the role as the months have gone on. We have missed Millie, we have missed Sam [Kerr], but it is nice sharing it with Niamh as well as we're two completely different characters.'

We Are Chelsea is distributed across Apple, Spotify or wherever fans choose to get their podcasts, in addition to being published across the Official Chelsea website, the Official Chelsea App, and Chelsea's YouTube channel.
