When I was a kid in Marseille, it was everything to get a photograph with a player. I’ve always remembered that feeling – and it’s what we are trying to give to the Chelsea supporters here in Sydney.

It’s a long way to come from London. We have travelled far! But we know that many fans have also come from across Australia or beyond to see us. So, if we can sign a shirt or take a picture with them, maybe we make a dream come true, you know?

Training has been good. There have been some tough sessions, but we know what we are working for. We want to have a good season, and we are learning a lot and understanding what the new manager wants from us.

The game against Western Sydney Wanderers was a good test. They played with a lot of intensity and showed their quality. At half-time, the manager gave us some little details, and you understand he knows football so well.

He was an unbelievable player; one of the best of his generation. So, of course, you listen when he talks because he has experience of playing for big clubs and winning everything. He knows how to explain things well and manage players. He and his staff are top. We are enjoying working with them.

It has been nice being back together as a group after the summer break. Some of us had six weeks off and were able to spend time with family and friends. I think this is important. To be fresh.

Some players were at the World Cup and are having some more time off. We have played a lot of football over the last two seasons, you know? So, this is important. We know it’s a privilege to play but sometimes you need to stop and change the picture for a couple of weeks.

I stayed in London most of the summer – it was hot! I went to the Monaco Grand Prix, which was an amazing experience, but I continued to work because it’s important to have a good season. And, of course, give our fans a feeling they will always remember.
