A long-standing and fierce rivalry reignites this evening as Chelsea travel to Elland Road for a Premier League clash against Leeds United.
Following our 1-1 draw with Arsenal on Sunday, Enzo Maresca's side head to West Yorkshire sitting third in the Premier League table. Our hosts, in contrast, are 18th and have lost their previous four top-flight fixtures.
Yet matches between Chelsea and Leeds are rarely predictable, due to an intense rivalry between the two clubs that began in the 1960s and reached a boiling point after our meeting in the 1970 FA Cup final.
After the two sides could not be separated at Wembley, a replay was needed at Old Trafford. Still viewed as one of the 'most brutal games' in the history of English football, the Blues came away as 2-1 winners and lifted the FA Cup for the first time.
There have been several other memorable and momentous meetings down the years, but tonight's clash is our first at Elland Road since August 2022. Just three members of our squad remain from that trip: Trevoh Chalobah, Marc Cucurella and Blues captain Reece James.
Tonight's fixture begins at 8.15pm (UK time) and, for just the second time this season, the Blues will be wearing our third kit, which was inspired by the momentous 2004/05 campaign that saw Chelsea crowned Premier League champions for the first time.

The campaign served up double silverware with the League Cup also lifted, while Chelsea Ladies, as the team was then called, were fully integrated into the club having just achieved top-flight status.
The other occasion our men's side donned the third kit this season was away to West Ham United, where we sealed an impressive 5-1 victory at the London Stadium.
