Marcus Bettinelli and Millie Bright OBE were recognised as Chelsea Football Club’s PFA Community Champions at the CFC Awards 2025 on Sunday and we have more details of their efforts here…
Bettinelli has been a longstanding supporter of Chelsea Foundation’s work and this season was instrumental in leading the squad's contribution to the Wrap Up Warm campaign, which raised more than £90,000 to support charities tackling homelessness and its root causes in London. He further supported the initiative by visiting the Barons Court Project to donate warm clothing as Chelsea Foundation donated nearly 4,000 items of clothing that had been collected to support those in need during the festive period. Bettinelli was also heavily involved in the men’s squad visit to Chelsea & Westminster Hospital at Christmas, as well as being a continual presence at Chelsea Foundation’s Community Days.
Chelsea Women’s captain Bright was appointed a trustee of Chelsea Foundation in March 2024. Throughout this season, Bright has been an incredible advocate for Chelsea Foundation, including supporting the Premier League Disability Football Festival and the Inspire Her programme, Chelsea Foundation and Nike’s five-year mission to drive girls’ participation in football.
In March, she hosted over 100 local primary school students for a superpower-themed World Book Day workshop at Stamford Bridge. Some of the ideas and themes from the workshop will be used by Bright who is writing an inclusive children’s book and series of comics as part of a neurodiversity education programme. She is working on that with Chelsea Foundation as part of the Premier League Players Project.
Bettinelli said: ‘I am honoured to be Chelsea’s PFA Community Champion for this season. Chelsea Foundation does incredible work inspiring positive change in our communities across London and Surrey, and it is always a pleasure to support their activity.’
Bright said: ‘Being a trustee of the Chelsea Foundation is something I am immensely proud of and I am delighted to receive this award. We have some really exciting plans for the future and I look forward to continuing to work together with Chelsea Foundation.’
