Emma Hayes has been named as the Barclays FA Women’s Super League Manager of the Season for 2021/22 with striker Sam Kerr picking up Player and Goal of the Season.

It was a record-breaking season for Emma Hayes’ side, who became the first team in the WSL era to claim a third consecutive league title. It is also a third successive Manager of the Season award for Hayes, who scooped the prize in 2019/20 and 2020/21.

She was also named Manager of the Year for the WSL at the League Managers Association awards last night.

The Blues boss was in the running for Manager of the Month five times this season as her side won 18 of the 22 league fixtures this year.

Hayes’ Chelsea side only lost twice in the league all season, and went on an impressive unbeaten run from January to pip Arsenal to claim top spot late on in the campaign.

After another formidable year in front of goal, Sam Kerr has been named as the WSL Player of the Season. Kerr has received a number of prestigious accolades this year which include being named WSL Player of the Year at the London Football Awards and receiving the sought-after Football Writers’ Association Women’s Player of the Year award.

The Matildas striker was also voted as the club’s Player of the Season, with over 70 per cent of the vote. Our No.20 netted 20 times in 20 appearances in the league this year which saw her win the Golden Boot award for the second-consecutive year.

Kerr’s terrific strike against Manchester United on the final day of the season has also been voted as WSL Goal of the Season. Her second and our fourth goal against United saw Kerr chest the ball, turn and volley past Mary Earps from distance as we won the WSL title for the third year running.
