He played in the FA Youth Cup and represented the Under-21s for the Tractor Boys as an Under-16 schoolboy, scoring in the latter. Following his move south, Brown enjoyed a prolific maiden season for the Blues in front of goal, notching 10 goals in 20 league appearances, most of which were as a substitute. His impact from the bench was highlighted in February when he scored four goals as a second-half introduction against Brighton and that form was rewarded with a development squad debut before the end of the campaign.
