Charlie Webster, originally from Broughton in Hampshire, joined the Academy as an Under-10 and is a talented, adaptable midfielder.

Part of the full-time school programme as a schoolboy, he has represented England up to Under-18 level.

The youngster's ability to play the role of both a deep and attacking midfielder saw him appear four times for the youth team as an Under-16 before signing his scholarship in the summer of 2020. He signed his first professional contract on his 17th birthday in January 2021 and ended the campaign having played a pivotal role for Ed Brand's youth team, making 26 appearances in total, including a couple of outings for the development squad.

Prior to the Christmas 2021 break, Webster made a dozen appearances for the development squad as he stepped up to the oldest academy age group in his second season as a scholar and also featured in the FA Youth Cup as we started the new campaign with a 4-1 victory over Leyton Orient in the third round.

In Europe, the technical midfielder played all six of our UEFA Youth League matches as we finished second in the group.
