Harvey Vale is a versatile player who signed for the Academy from Fulham as an Under-13.

A talented player who was part of the full-time school programme, he has played in a number of midfield positions, as well as being able to play higher up the pitch or wide in attacking roles.

An England Under-19 international, Vale recorded well over 20 goals at club level in his Under-16 season in 2019/20 before a string of impressive performances saw him feature nine times for the youth team, scoring one goal.

Vale signed his first professional contract with Chelsea in September 2020 and followed that with an impressive first season in full-time football, netting seven goals and assisting 11 times across 28 Academy outings. Although he started the season with our Under-18s, quality performances meant he began to feature mainly for our development sqaud towards the end of the term, playing in various positions.

In 2021/22, Vale made 13 appearances in Premier League 2 prior to the Christmas break and was the joint-top goalscorer for Andy Myers's side. Standout moments included a brace against Tottenham on the opening weekend and a strike against Manchester City on his 18th birthday, while he has also played five times and scored once in the UEFA Youth League.

His efforts have been rewarded with a place on the bench for the men's first team Carabao Cup tie against Southampton and Champions League trip to Malmo.
