The Young Generation: Under-18s season in moments
At the end of a season in which our Under-18s were the youngest side in the league and finished third, we look back on the key moments of another eventful campaign.
A right-sided, powerful defender, he is also comfortable playing on the left and likes to bring the ball out of defence. In his debut season as a scholar, Colley was a regular for the youth team as they won the south section of the league for the second year running. He made his FA Youth Cup debut as a substitute in the semi-final against Blackburn Rovers and made three appearances in the UEFA Youth League as our Under-19s retained their European title.
Colley has represented and captained Sweden up to the Under-20 age group.
In 2016/17, he split his time between the youth team and development squad, appearing twice in our successful FA Youth Cup campaign and also picking up an Under-18 Premier League medal. The following season, the defender made his UEFA Youth League debut but played most of his football in Premier League 2 and the senior Checkatrade Trophy.
As one of the oldest members of the group in 2018/19, Colley featured in all five of our Checkatrade Trophy outings, helping the team to clean sheets away at Swindon and Plymouth. He scored his first goal in three years in September's PL2 win in Swansea and was an ever-present as our Under-19s returned to Switzerland for the Youth League finals weekend.
