UEFA Youth League draw explained
After recording a 3-1 win over AS Monaco earlier in the week to book a spot in the UEFA Youth League last-16, we take a look at the line-up and who the young Blues could face in the draw.
A right-sided, powerful defender, he is also comfortable playing on the left and likes to bring the ball out of defence. In his debut season as a scholar, Colley was a regular for the youth team as they won the south section of the league for the second year running. He made his FA Youth Cup debut as a substitute in the semi-final against Blackburn Rovers and made three appearances in the UEFA Youth League as our Under-19s retained their European title.
Colley has represented and captained Sweden up to the Under-19 age group.
In 2016/17, he split his time between the youth team and development squad, appearing twice in our successful FA Youth Cup campaign and also picking up an Under-18 Premier League medal. The following season, the defender made his UEFA Youth League debut but played most of his football in Premier League 2 and the senior Checkatrade Trophy.
In summer 2016, he signed a first professional contract that commits him to the club until 2019.
