  • Position

Marc Guehi has been with Chelsea since the Under-8 age group and played most of his schoolboy football at right-back or centre-half.

A committed defender with a good attitude, he represented the youth team as both an Under-15 and Under-16 schoolboy, before featuring regularly in our Treble-winning Under-18 campaign in 2016/17. As captain of England Under-17s, he came within seconds of the European Championship title in the summer of 2017 before featuring in every game at the Under-17 World Cup later in the year, scoring in the 5-2 final victory against Spain.

Guehi's goals were a major talking point throughout 2017/18, most notably in the Under-17 World Cup final for England.

Guehi's goals were a major talking point throughout 2017/18 as the teenager netted at significant moments, including in Youth Cup victories over West Brom, Tottenham and Arsenal, the latter coming in our 7-1 aggregate win in the final. He featured 30 times for the youth team as Jody Morris's side completed a remarkable Quadruple, and made his development squad debut in late March.

In 2018/19, the Ivory Coast-born defender stepped up to play his football with the Under-19s and development squad, establishing himself as a regular at the heart of our defence. In September 2017, he signed a first professional contract until the end of the 2019/20 season.

In 2019, Guehi made his senior debut in the 7-1 Carabao Cup victory over Grimsby Town after being named as an unused substitue for the UEFA Champions League tie against Valencia at Stamford Bridge.
