Stuart Searle

Women's Head of Technical/ Goalkeeping Coach

Stuart Searle joined Chelsea from Basingstoke Town as back-up for our reserve team and as a player-coach, before working there part-time.

He moved to then Championship side Watford in January 2009, which re-united him with former Chelsea reserve team manager Brendan Rodgers, before signing a two-year contract with League One team Milton Keynes Dons.

Stuart started evolving as a coach from the age of 18 when helping out with the then Wimbledon centre of excellence, leading the younger goalkeepers.

The UEFA-A licenced coach joined Chelsea as an Academy goalkeeping coach in 2004 while playing for numerous high profile non-league clubs before signing on as a player.

In 2012, and back at Chelsea working in the Academy and our international department, Stuart joined Chelsea Women manager Emma Hayes in the becoming the goalkeeping coach on a part-time basis. He soon moved into a full-time role, successfully helping them win the WSL and FA Cup Double in 2015, the Spring Series in 2017, and the Double again in 2018.

As of the 2019/20 season, Stuart's role has evolved and he is now head of technical as well as goalkeeping coach.
