Stuart Searle

Women's Head of Technical/ Goalkeeping Coach

Stuart Searle joined Chelsea from Basingstoke Town as back-up for our reserve team and as a player-coach, before joining Emma Hayes staff with Chelsea Women.

He moved to then Championship side Watford in January 2009, which re-united him with former Chelsea reserve team manager Brendan Rodgers, before signing a two-year contract with League One team Milton Keynes Dons.

Stuart started evolving as a coach from the age of 18 when helping out with the then Wimbledon centre of excellence, leading the younger goalkeepers.

He joined Chelsea as an Academy goalkeeping coach in 2004 while playing for numerous high profile non-league clubs before signing on as a player.

In 2012, and back at Chelsea working in the Academy and our international department, Stuart joined Chelsea Women manager Emma Hayes, becoming the goalkeeping coach on a part-time basis. He soon moved into a full-time role, successfully helping us win the WSL and FA Cup Double in 2015, the Spring Series in 2017, and the Double again in 2018.

As of the 2019/20 season, the UEFA-A licenced coach's role has evolved and he is now head of technical as well as goalkeeping coach.
