Tino Anjorin joined our development centre programme as an Under-7 and then officially signed at the Under-9 age group.
A strong, powerful, attacking box-to-box midfielder, he loves to shoot and score goals. After joining the first-team squad for training in 2019/20, he made his senior debut for Chelsea as a substitute in a 2019 League Cup tie, aged 17.
He is currently on loan at Lokomotiv Moscow in Russia.
Anjorin demonstrated his eye for goal in the 2018 FA Youth Cup final, when he completed our 7-1 rout against Arsenal with the final goal at the Emirates. That was his 23rd youth-team appearance and eighth goal of the campaign, all while still a schoolboy. Anjorin also made his UEFA Youth League debut in our 4-2 group-stage win over Atletico Madrid. He signed his first professional contract at the club in November 2018.
2019/20 saw Anjorin appear predominantly for the development squad, though he was still eligible for the youth team and was named captain for the FA Youth Cup campaign in which Chelsea were beaten finalists. In total, Anjorin made 23 appearances across the Academy teams and scored 11 goals during a season that saw Andy Myers' men crowed Premier League 2 champions.
He started the following season with our development squad and after seven outings by December 2020 he had contributed five goals and two assists across Academy competitions. By the end of the season Anjorin had played 14 times for the Academy sides and added one more goal to his tally from Christmas.
After a string of impressive development squad performances and still only aged 17, Anjorin was a debutant under Frank Lampard in Chelsea's 7-1 Carabao Cup victory over Grimsby Town in September 2019. He was then handed a Premier League debut six months later, when he replaced Willian in the 71st minute of a 4-0 home win over Everton.
In the summer of 2020 Anjorin agreed a new five-year contract with Chelsea, following his senior breakthrough during the preceding season, and was handed his full debut in December 2020, starting in Chelsea's Champions League home group stage game against Russian side Krasnodar.
Throughout the 2020/21 season Anjorin began training with the men's team on a regular basis and formed part of the matchday squad on numerous occasions, including for the Champions League final win over Manchester City in May 2021.
He also made his FA Cup debut, coming off the bench in our wins over Morecambe and Barnsley en route to reaching the final.
At the start of September, it was announced that Anjorin would be embarking on his first loan move, with a deal agreed for him to spend the remainder of the season in the Russian Premier League with Lokomotiv Moscow.
Anjorin played at the European Championship for England Under-17s, progressing to the Under-18s. He then scored his maiden goal for England Under-19s during his third appearance at that level, against Bosnia and Herzegovina in a European Under-19 Championship qualifier in November 2019.
