Goalkeeper Zecira Musovic joined the Blues on a two-and-a-half-year deal ahead of the second half of the 2020/21 season.
Musovic joined us from Swedish Damallsvenskan club FC Rosengard on 1 January 2020 and took shirt number one, previously worn by fellow Sweden international Hedvig Lindahl.
The keeper started her club career playing for Stattena IF at a very early age, spending two seasons with the senior women’s team in the second division until 2012. She transferred from Stattena to FC Malmo, renamed FC Rosengard at the end of 2012, and has played for them up to her move to Chelsea, winning four Swedish league titles and the Swedish Cup three times. She featured against Chelsea in the last-16 of the Women's Champions League in 2017.
Musovic came to the Blues with considerable international experience, having captained Sweden’s Under-19s when they won the 2015 UEFA Women’s U-19 Championship final in Israel. She achieved her first senior cap in March 2018 against Russia at the Algarve Cup and was called up for the 2019 FIFA Women’s World Cup.
Musovic made her debut for the club in a 2-0 away victory against West Ham during the 2020/21 campaign.
The goalkeeper made a total of two appearances, keeping two clean sheets, during a campaign in which the Blues secured the WSL and the Continental League Cup.
