Fran Kitching

Date of Birth: 17 February 1998
Place of birth: Rotherham
Position: Goalkeeper
Nationality: English
Trophies won at Chelsea: FA WSL Spring Series 2017

Fran Kitching signed for Chelsea Ladies in 2015 to become the club's third-choice goalkeeper.

The Rotherham teenager, who has been involved in the England Under-19s set-up, made her competitive debut for the Blues in a Continental Cup tie against London Bees in 2016. The match went to penalties after a 3-3 draw and though Kitching saved the first spot-kick, Emma Hayes’s side exited the competition.

She began the 2017 Spring Series, which Chelsea won, in the side with the more senior goalkeepers injured, and played in the Women’s FA Cup semi-final at Birmingham. Just as against London Bees, however, there was penalty shoot-out heartache for Kitching and the Blues.

She moved on loan to Watford in July 2017.

Prior to her arrival at Wheatsheaf Park, Kitching represented England at rounders and won that sport's Under-16s’ award for most outstanding performance in 2014.
