The form
FC Twente currently sit at the top of the Vrouwen Eredivisie table, and are two points clear of rivals Ajax, having taken maximum points from their opening four matches of the campaign.
The Dutch side came through qualifying to advance to the league phase of the competition with an 8-1 aggregate win against GKS Katowice over two legs in the final round.
Meanwhile, Chelsea sit at the top of the Women's Super League, with four wins and a draw from our opening five matches of the season. The Blues have a one-point advantage over second-placed Manchester City, who we defeated on the opening day of the campaign.
Recent head-to-head
Chelsea faced FC Twente under the old Champions League format last season, which meant we played them both home and away in the group stage.
Goals from Aggie Beever-Jones, Maika Hamano and a Guro Reiten penalty handed us a 3-1 win in the Netherlands back in October 2024, and we also won comfortably in the return leg at Stamford Bridge in December.
Multiple Blues got themselves on the scoresheet that night, as Catarina Macario, Oriane Jean-Francois, Mayra Ramirez, Sjoeke Nusken, and Eve Perisset netted in addition to an own goal to complete a 6-1 win under the lights in SW6.
