It is Europe against South America in the FIFA Club World Cup quarter-finals, as Chelsea take on Palmeiras in Philadelphia. Here are all the must-know statistics ahead of the match.

Chelsea’s quarter-final at the Club World Cup takes place at Lincoln Financial Field. Kick-off is at 9pm local time on Friday 4 July, or 2am UK time on Saturday 5 July, at a 67,600-capacity stadium which was opened in 2003 and is the home of NFL side Philadelphia Eagles.

If the score is level after 90 minutes, 30 minutes extra time will be played and then penalties if necessary. The winners will play either Al Hilal or Fluminense in the semi-finals at MetLife Stadium, New Jersey, on Tuesday at 3pm local time (8pm UK time).

Chelsea statistics

Chelsea are playing in Philadelphia for the third time in this tournament having already taken on Flamengo and Esperance de Tunisie at the city's Lincoln Financial Field.

Enzo Maresca has given Club World Cup minutes to 26 members of our 28-man squad. Only goalkeepers Mike Penders and Gaga Slonina are yet to feature. No player has started all four of our matches.

Chelsea’s 4-1 extra-time win over Benfica on Saturday was just the second time the Blues have won an extra-time match by a margin of three goals, having also defeated Swindon Town (5-2) after extra time in a first-round replay in the 1914/15 FA Cup.

With four minutes of the 90 to play, the match against Benfica was suspended for one hour and 57 minutes due to a severe weather warning. The match eventually finished four hours and 38 minutes after it kicked off.

Chelsea have won 11 of our last 13 matches across all competitions. Our defeats in that run came at Newcastle United and against Flamengo, when we completed both matches with 10 men. We have kept clean sheets in six of those games.

Our 4-1 win over Benfica was the 14th time across all competitions that we have scored four or more goals in a game under Maresca. That is the most by any Premier League team since the Italian’s first match in charge on 18 August 2024.

Pedro Neto has scored in three consecutive matches for the first time in his senior club career.

Milestones

Enzo Fernandez started a Chelsea game for the 100th time against Benfica.

Benoit Badiashile's next start will be his 50th in a Chelsea shirt.
