An excellent Romeo Lavia assist proved only a footnote for Belgium against Maxence Lacroix's France, as Les Bleus recorded a 4-1 Nations League victory after an impressive second-half fightback.
Both Lavia and Lacroix started the Group A fixture at the Stade de France, with Blues goalkeeper Mike Penders an unused substitute for Belgium.
France carried a greater threat throughout the contest, but the visitors broke the deadlock with ten minutes of the first half remaining. Lavia created the goal with an excellent, defence-splitting pass that enabled Dodi Lukebakio to run through and confidently convert.
As the second half progressed, Belgium frustrated the home side. But when Desire Doue equalised with 13 minutes to play, the floodgates opened. Rayan Cherki quickly netted France's second to put the hosts ahead, before Michael Olise struck a late brace to complete France's late turnaround.
Lacroix completed the 90 minutes for France while Lavia was replaced late on as Belgium searched for a route back into the contest they were unable to find.
Earlier in the day, a trio of young Blues featured as England Under-19s finished off their September-October fixtures against Belgium.
Goalkeeper Freddy Bernal started for England alongside midfielder Reggie Walsh, who is currently on loan at Wigan Athletic. Chelsea forward Chizaram Ezenwata was introduced as a second-half substitute, but England fell to a narrow 1-0 defeat after a stoppage-time strike.
