A brilliant second-half performance gave Chelsea a 2-0 victory over Manchester United, with Morgan Rogers and Cole Palmer getting the goals in Saturday's early Premier League kick-off.
The Blues were eager to get back to winning ways after the previous week's home loss to Tottenham Hotspur and the midweek Carabao Cup exit in a penalty shootout at Liverpool. They didn't disappoint, making sure all three points would remain in west London when the Red Devils came to visit on Halloween.
A tight first-half with chances - and disallowed goals, one for Estevao Willian and one for Matheus Cunha - at either end somehow ended goalless, despite Moises Caicedo hitting the post shortly before the break.
Chelsea came out for the second half determined to find the opening goal and it soon arrived, Romeo Lavia winning possession and setting Rogers on his way for a surging run and brilliantly chipped finish.
Palmer then added a second from the penalty spot after Lisandro Martinez was shown his second yellow card for fouling Wesley Fofana at a corner. We never looked back.
Estevao was again denied a goal by an incredibly tight offside call, and Mike Penders produced a stunning late save to preserve his first Premier League clean sheet, with the Blues 2-0 winners at the final whistle.
