With the women's transfer window in full swing, here's a reminder of everything that's happened so far during what has already been an exciting summer at Chelsea.

Chelsea Women new signings 2025

Mara Alber

The Germany Under-23 international joined the Blues from TSG Hoffenheim on 1 July 2025, signing a four-year deal. Alber is a versatile forward who can play on either flank or through the middle and is considered one of the most exciting young talents in her native Germany.

Livia Peng

The Switzerland international goalkeeper drew plaudits after her superb performances at Women's Euro 2025, shortly after signing a four-year contract with Chelsea. Last season, she established herself as a first-team regular with Werder Bremen in the Frauen Bundesliga, starting all but one of their matches in 2024/25 as they achieved a seventh-place finish in the table.

Ellie Carpenter

Carpenter has arrived with an impressive CV, with two Champions League trophies and five domestic league titles across her time in Australia and France. The defender holds several records internationally, having made her senior debut for Australia at just 15, and has already travelled to three Olympic Games.

Becky Spencer - loan made permanent

The goalkeeper, who spent the final three months of the 2024/25 season with the Blues in a temporary switch from Tottenham Hotspur, completed a permanent transfer this summer by signing a one-year contract with Chelsea, with an option to extend until 2027.

Chelsea Women departures summer 2025

Ashley Lawrence

The Canadian international departed the club on 1 July, making a permanent move to OL Lyonnes. Lawrence joined Chelsea in 2023 and won four trophies in two seasons at the club, including the Women’s Super League crown in both years as a Blue.

Aimee Claypole

The young forward completed a permanent move to Nottingham Forest on 1 August, having come through our Academy system. Claypole enjoyed loan spells at Lewes and Swedish side Linkoping before spending time at Durham for the final part of the 2024/25 campaign.

Aniek Nouwen

The Dutch international returned to PSV Eindhoven, the club from which she arrived at Chelsea when she signed for us in 2021. The defender's first start for the Blues came against Leicester City in October 2021, before she scored her first two goals for Chelsea against the Foxes; one in the FA Cup and one in a Women’s Super League clash later that season.

Lucy Watson

The 21-year-old left the club this summer upon the expiration of her contract. Watson joined us in 2022 from Sheffield United and had loan spells at Charlton Athletic, Crystal Palace, Southampton and Ipswich Town.

Greta Humphries

The defender left the club upon the expiration of her contract this summer, having previously signed her first professional deal at the age of 18. The defender joined Bristol City on loan at the start of the last season, making seven appearances before being recalled and subsequently moving on loan to Charlton Athletic in January 2025.


Vera Jones

The 17-year-old will spend next season on loan at Women's Super League 2 side Bristol City, following the signing of her first professional contract in February 2025.

Lola Brown

The 17-year-old midfielder will spend the season on loan at Crystal Palace in WSL 2, having signed her first professional contract with the club in November 2024. Brown made her Chelsea debut last term as a substitute appearance against Celtic in the Champions League group stage in 2024. She came off the bench in our 2-0 win over Tottenham in May 2025 to make her WSL bow.

Katie Cox

After 10 years with Chelsea, Cox penned her first professional contract with the Blues in August 2024, and last season was named on the bench for Champions League matches against Real Madrid, Manchester City and Barcelona, as well as featuring among the substitutes at the end of the WSL campaign against both Tottenham and Liverpool.

The 19-year-old stopper is spending the season on loan at Aberdeen in the Scottish Women's Premier League 1.

Mia Fishel

The striker returned home to the USA this summer, leaving Chelsea as a two-time WSL champion and a Treble winner, with a total of four goals in 21 appearances for the Blues in all competitions. The forward joined Seattle of the National Women’s Soccer League, where she will play alongside Blues legend Ji So-Yun.

Chelsea Women new contracts 2025

Ashanti Akpan

Having joined the Blues in August 2013, Akpan has been with the club since the age of seven. During that time, she has lifted silverware, including the FA Youth Cup in 2021/22 and the FA WSL Academy Cup in 2022/23. Akpan signed her first professional deal at the halfway point of the 2023/24 season, and in June 2025, Chelsea exercised an option to extend her contract by a further year.
